On September 27th, the Ontario Women's Hockey Association, our governing body, issued a statement on mandatory vaccinations:
If this mandatory requirement impacts your ability to participate in the 2021-22 season, please contact the Registrar.
All players born in 2009 or earlier and volunteers (coaches, trainers, bench staff, on-ice helpers and den moms) must be fully vaccinated (2 doses plus 14 day waiting period after the second dose) by November 1, 2021.
Players and volunteers can submit their second dose administration receipts to the NGHA so that their vaccination status can be verified.
The NGHA is collecting vaccine information for the 2021-22 season. It will only be collected for this purpose, and will be deleted once a player or volunteer’s vaccination status has been confirmed. All information is held centrally on a secure server, and is only accessible to those NGHA officials involved in the proof-of-vaccination process.
Carleton University has implemented its own COVID-19 Vaccine policy requiring all individuals 12 years of age or older as of December 31, 2021 must attest to receiving their first dose vaccine by September 8, 2021, and their second dose no later than October 15, 2021 in order to access any indoor or outdoor Athletics facilities.
This policy, and the process used by Carleton to verify proof of vaccination for all individuals accessing Carleton University facilities, is managed solely by Carleton and is independent of the OWHA vaccine requirement that becomes effective as of November 1.
Anyone aged 12 and over who is attending an ice time at the Carleton University Ice House, must comply with Carleton’s requirement.
To attest to being vaccinated:
Please ensure to follow the steps above before your next Carleton University ice time. Anyone who has not completed their attestation will not be allowed to enter the facility. The NGHA cannot provide assistance with this process or submit your vaccine attestation on your behalf.
