Spring tryouts for U11, U13, U15, and U18 competitive teams begin April 15, 2026.
The current tryout schedule is available on the NGHA website.and will be updated as new information becomes available.
U9 competitive tryouts, pathways, and House League sort-outs will take place in September 2026. Details and registration will be shared later this summer.

Registration opens on March 24, 2026 and will close at 11:59 PM on April 7, 2026.
How to Register
Important:
Tryout registration and fees must be completed and paid in full by April 7 @ 11:59 PM. Participants will not be permitted to try out unless fees are paid in full.
Please note: Tryout fees are separate from season registration fees. Full-season registration will take place after teams are selected.
Fees are flat and non-refundable and include all tryout sessions.
Players released from AA or A may continue at lower tiers without additional tryout fees.
U13-U18
U11
All U11 players will participate in one on-ice skills session as part of the tryout process.
Players who played with another OWHA-affiliated association last season must submit a Permission to Skate (PTS) or a formal release to both Competitive Director 1 and Competitive Director 2 prior to their first session.
Note: No new out-of-province players will be accepted for the 2026-2027 season (except current NGHA competitive players)
NGHA-issued tryout jerseys are required.
Players will not be permitted on the ice without completed registration, payment, and required documentation.
Teams are selected through a structured evaluation process led by the Selection Committee with oversight from the NGHA Competitive Committee.

Selection decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
Players are expected to attend all scheduled sessions for their division and tier.
If a player cannot attend due to illness or injury, they should notify Competitive Director 1 and Competitive Director 2 as soon as possible and before the session(s) the player will miss. Medical clearance may be required before returning to the ice.
Players missing sessions for non-medical reasons are not guaranteed placement.
